LTG (ret.) Jim Pillsbury - Principal

LTG Jim Pillsbury retired from the Army on July 1, 2011 after more than 38 years of active service.  His last duty position was Deputy Commanding General for the Army Materiel Command.  

He commanded soldiers at Ft Campbell, KY in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) from company through brigade level while serving there over 12 years.  He was selected to be the Assistant Division Commander for the 10th Mountain Division in 1997.  He was selected for General Officer in 1999 and promoted in July of 2000.  As a General Officer he commanded the Defense Distribution Center in New Cumberland, PA; served as the United States Army Europe Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics; commanded the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) in Huntsville, AL; and served as the Army Materiel Command’s G3/Operations Officer prior to assuming his duties as the Deputy Commander.

LTG Pillsbury was an Army Aviator/Maintenance Test Pilot and spent most of his career prior to General Officer on the flight line.   He served as the 101st Airborne Division’s Aircraft Maintenance officer where he was responsible for the readiness of over 350 aircraft.  He deployed overseas four times and served as the 101st Airborne Division's Division Support Command's Executive Officer during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.  As the Commanding General for AMCOM he initiated a  Condition Based Maintenance concept that has proven to save lives and money, and increase readiness across the various fleets in the Army.

He graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1973.  His numerous awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal and he earned the Army Aviator Wings and the Airborne insignia.  He is married to the former Becky Ryan and they have two children, Michael (who is married to Amanda and have a beautiful baby girl, Hannah) and Katherine.  The entire family resides in Huntsville, AL where LTG Pillsbury and his wife have retired.

Gregory Cox - Principal

Gregory Cox is a principal with Redstone Energy Group. As a member of the executive staff, Mr. Cox is a key decision maker regarding the company’s efforts to reduce system cost and project costs through the evaluation, development, and adoption of new technology.

Mr. Cox is a senior technologist with over 30 years experience utilizing technology and strategy to solve marketing, communications, and education / training problems. His unique insight and independent analyses has assisted businesses in meeting the challenges of identifying, securing, implementing, and managing IP and environmental system technology. Mr. Cox is proficient in network design, video security and access management. He has a wealth of international experience and is an exceptional community leader who shares his extensive technical expertise and program development with local municipalities, prominent businesses, learners, and user groups. Mr. Cox has served as a valued consultant recognized for his reliability, industry credibility, and communication skills.

Cole Walker - Principal

Cole Walker has developed significant expertise in the area of renewable energy and financing.  As a key member of the Redstone Energy Group executive staff, he is active in all facets of the business including: financial modeling, project design, development and management.  Mr. Walker is particularly focused on short and long term financing of project assets.

Mr. Walker has been an active board member and business development specialist for several companies including COMAR Energy, an Atlanta based renewable energy company focused on bio fuels; Rocket City Solar a Huntsville based solar company; and Southeastern Renewable Energy Group, an advisory group consisting of multiple subject matter experts across the spectrum of the research, design, development, financing and installation of distributed renewable energy systems. Mr. Walker is also a Partner in UPM Inc./United Properties a development and management company. The company has been involved in the design and development of over 50 projects in Huntsville, Alabama.

Mr. Walker has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama.

Rick Skelton - Principal

Rick Skelton is a principal of Redstone Energy Group where he is valued for his past dedication to financing, designing, developing and managing all forms of environmentally responsible projects. He is a national leader in Adaptive re-use, green building and large scale planned sustainable communities.  To date, he has owned and developed more than $375,000,000 in projects. Six of his buildings are registered on the National Register of Historic Places. 

Mr. Skelton created the housing and full service hospitality for many fortune 500 companies during the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, including NIKE, Sprint, the NBA, Time-Warner, Invesco and more.  In 1997, he founded Skelton Development, LLC, www.skeltondevelopment.com and currently serves as the Company’s Sole Manager.  Skelton is adept at a myriad of finance tools including, Tax Exempt Bonds, Historic Tax Credits, Low income Tax Credits, Façade Donations, TAD, TIFF, BID, Empowerment Zone, Enterprise Zone, conventional funding, private equity, EB5 with GCFID which he founded. Skelton has received more than 17 homebuilder’s awards to date. He has extensive experience in the trademark and patent field.  Skelton was named “one of the most influential residential and commercial real estate individuals in Atlanta” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle 2001-2006 consecutively.  Skelton was named runner-up as Atlanta Business Person of the Year by the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for 2000.

Lori Severin - Principal

Lori Severin is a principal of Redstone Energy Group responsible for new business development. Ms. Severin is valued for her experience in sustainability and professional consulting services on clean and renewable energy systems. A strategic thinker, with an innate ability to envision and execute transformations, Ms. Severin has played a key role in the success of regional initiatives focused on demonstrating and educating community thought leaders on important social, economic and environmental issues. Her prior work required extensive B2B experience in information and technology sales development and management, where she managed fifteen years of award winning regional and national revenue and market share growth.

Ms. Severin sits on the board, as a founding member, of the Tennessee Valley Sustainability Council (TVSC). She is an active Board Member of The North Alabama Land Trust, The School Foundation and The North Alabama Food Policy Council. Ms. Severin holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture from North Carolina State University, and a BSA of Media Arts from the University of South Carolina.
